Keeping with tradition, we hand these directly to the people we honor for their aviation passion.
A project dad and I have been working on for some time now, we finally got these coins made! The great people at Oakcoin.com, whose coins I have seen and even own a few, helped me turn the initial design shown here from a simple photoshop collage to a 3d rendering and finally a coin. Took a lot of time and many emails, but the results are pretty awesome.
The best part about these coins is we didn’t just make some vector art of planes and pilots. The planes and the pilots are directly from photographs dad took that I made vector graphics of and combined to make the looks of the coin. To me, it could not be more appropriate to thank our veterans with history they have preserved.
It seems a monumental task to thank our vets for what they have done for us. I would like to think this goes a little ways to express that gratitude.
