I’ve not talked enough about my trip to the U.K., so here’s a start. This is one of a few time lapses and other footage from filming in Duxford, outside of Cambridge.
The Spitfire is a plane like no other. Seeing it next to all of its predecessors there in Duxford really impresses upon you the evolution of aviation into the amazing flying machine that it is. Just behind it is the Hurricane, the aircraft that the Spitfire replaced.
The whole trip we had amazing weather, and that night was no exception. With so many clouds rolling by, a time lapse only seemed natural. I filmed these time lapses a little differently than most. Rather than taking a still every x minutes and sticking, it’s a video that’s been sped up and slightly blurred using frame blending. This way, I can film a shorter amount of time than a time lapse made with stills, but still have the time-lapse effect of time moving quickly.
